Cars in German Town Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Law Enforcement
Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Officers say they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Officers then found numerous other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; officials are not yet aware of any injuries in relation with the event," they commented.

Local authorities announced they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for tips.

A senior representative commented the incident rendered him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine people by a gunman targeting individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
